Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry
25th June - 5th August, 2000 Bethlehem , ĐÀ, USA

Organizer: Iacocca Institute at Lehigh University

The event is hold annually in summer

Participation: Young professionals and mature students from the ages of 21 to 35 who have the goal to become leaders in business and industry are invited. Number of participants is limited to 75 persons.
The program is designed to:
-Enhance participants' leadership skills
-Develop a network of friends who are current and future leaders
-Clarify participants' career goals from a "mountain top" perspective
There are no academic prerequisites and there will be no traditional grades. Instead, interns will select a set of personal leadership metrics and track, with their guides, their own changes over the Global Village experience.

Learning experience: During the six weeks of the Global Village, most of the learning experiences will take place at Lehigh University. Focus will be placed on three areas of learning: business and industry knowledge, leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and global networking and understanding other cultures. Executives from large and small companies, entrepreneurs, world class faculty from several partner institutions, and associated friends will be delighted to share their experiences and perspectives with the participants. Through interaction with these executives, other interns, learning guides, and through self-reflection, participants can proceed to build convictions, and develop new decision-making perspectives.
Courses offered within the Global Village framework are grouped into three "tracks":
-Globalization
-Electronic commerce
-Starting your own business
Weekend trips will take advantage of Bethlehem's key location within driving distance from New York, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington. Naturally, weekend visits to companies and other places of interest in business and industry circles have been included in the portfolio of options available to the Global Village interns.
