International Summer School for Economics Students
Donetsk, Ukraine, 26 June - 9 July, 2000

Programme description: Donetsk Summer School is an annual event. Established in 1997, DSS is a summer informal educational institution aiming to:
- provide a forum for contacts, exchanges and joint projects creation among students, scientists, managers for better information distribution, new approaches and technologies invention;
- increasing of the Economics student educational level;
- intense the awareness on problems which are specific for the post-communist countries from the Eastern Europe.

This year DSS will take place for two weeks from June, 26 to July, 09. It is scheduled to conduct lectures and meetings of students with scientists from leading universities of Ukraine as well as from Germany, U.K. and USA, representatives from the USA Corps of Peace in Ukraine, Foreign-Economic Links Department of Ukraine, business sphere, Custom-house and Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine.

Courses offered:
- Macroeconomic Aspects of International Relations Development
- Macroeconomic Problems
- The concept of Development of Central and Eastern European Countries' Foreign Economic Links

Eligibility:
The enrolment will be limited to 70 participants.

Applicants are expected to be:
- students in the second-fourth years of their university studies in Economics,
- to have a good command of English,
- to have a basic knowledge of economic analysis and strong background in related fields,
- to provide two letters of recommendation from competent specialists in economics.

All participants of the School will be interviewed and get a certificate at the time of the School finishing. It is also planned to publish reports of the participants of the School.

All potential participants have to pay return tickets to Donetsk, Ukraine. Accommodation will be paid by School Organising Committee.

For the participants outside the Commonwealth of Independent States will be sent the official letter of invitation to get a visa.

Accommodation:
first week: for lecturers - two bed room in hotel, Donetsk, for participants - in families in Donetsk;
second week: Hotel “Slavyanogorskaya”, a recreation centre Slav’yanogorsk (Donetsk region, 130 km North from Donetsk city)
